Passport - Data

Revision as of 22:32, 13 June 2016 by Wiki-admin (Talk | contribs)

Context: Most data found in Passport has been developed by combining information from many external, secondary sources (e.g., government agencies and industry associations) with primary research results gathered by Passport's publisher, then adjusting the results using internal algorithms and estimates. Specific sources for the secondary data are rarely named.

Elements: (See Passport - Data for details on where to find these elements within the document.)

Author: Euromonitor International.
Since most data found in Passport has been developed by combining external, secondary data with primary research results, then adjusting the results using internal algorithms and estimates, the data tables that result should be viewed as having been created by the database's author (Euromonitor International), regardless of the original sources of the data used in each table.

Date: 2016
Euromonitor occasionally revises older data, so the current year will apply even if you are only citing older data.

Title: Statistics for market size of beer in Canada [US$/year-on-year exchange rates/current prices, 2006-2015].
The information appearing in brackets (exchange rate conversion, time period, etc.) has been included because it will help others to retrieve these statistics in Passport.

- Note: In this case, all of the content in the Passport GMID database is by the same organization, so you need to provide their homepage URL. Note that this URL may be slightly different from the URL in your library's list of databases.
